500 ChatGPT Commands: The Complete Slash-Prompt Library (2026)

A “ChatGPT slash command” isn’t a built-in feature — OpenAI never shipped a command palette. It’s a convention that AI power users built themselves: you save a list of short triggers like /diagram or /viralhook, each mapped to a specific instruction, and ChatGPT follows whichever one you type. The command does the thinking about format and structure so you don’t have to re-explain it every time.

We pulled together and organized 500 of the most useful ones into a single reference, sorted into five working categories: visual thinking, content & marketing, AI image prompting, writing & coding, and creative/AI-workflow techniques. Skim the section you need, or save the whole thing as your personal prompt library.

How to set these up in ChatGPT

Two ways to make the commands actually work: (1) Open a new chat and paste in the commands you want, with a line like “When I type one of these slash commands, follow the matching instruction on whatever I send next” — then use them for the rest of that conversation. (2) For something permanent, paste your favorite subset into Settings → Custom Instructions (or a Project’s custom instructions), so every new chat already recognizes them. Either way, the command is just a memory aid for a prompt pattern — you’re still the one running the show.

What’s in each part

Part 1 (1–100): Visual thinking, explanations, analysis, and strategy. Part 2 (101–200): Content creation, social media, and marketing. Part 3 (201–300): AI image prompting, photography, and art styles. Part 4 (301–400): Writing, productivity, coding, and research. Part 5 (401–500): Creative thinking, AI workflows, and advanced prompting.

Part 1: Visual Thinking, Explanations, Analysis, and Strategy (1-100)

Getting the most out of this list

You don’t need all 500 in your head. Most people land on a working set of 15–20 — a few from each part — and keep those pinned in a note or a Custom GPT. For agency and marketing work specifically, the content/marketing block (101–200) and the image-prompting block (201–300) tend to get used daily; the analysis and workflow blocks (1–100, 401–500) are what you reach for when a client brief needs more structure than a plain prompt gives you.

If you’re already running an AI-native content workflow — reel scripts, blog drafts, ad creative — these commands slot in as the shorthand layer on top of whatever tools you’re using to actually produce and publish the work.
